SD card format failed, still unable to record?
What to do when SD card formatting doesn't solve recording issues
If you've attempted to format the Micro SD card multiple times but still cannot record, the SD card may be incompatible or defective.
Solution
Replace the SD card with a compatible one:
-
Purchase a compatible SD card
- Use mainstream brands (SanDisk, Samsung, Kingston, etc.)
- Choose 128GB or smaller capacity
- Select Class 10 or higher speed rating
-
Install the new SD card
- Insert it into the camera
- Format it through Recording Management
- Test recording functionality
Why This Happens
- Incompatible SD card: Some cards don't work well with certain camera models
- Counterfeit card: Fake cards often have formatting issues
- Physical damage: The card may be physically damaged
- Wear and tear: SD cards have limited write cycles
Prevention Tips
- Always buy from reputable sellers
- Avoid extremely cheap SD cards
- Replace SD cards every 1-2 years for reliability
- Keep spare SD cards on hand
