3. Installation and Account Registration
3.1 Download the "BoifunCam" App
- Method 1: Download the BoifunCam app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
- Method 2: Scan the BoifunCam app QR code to download it.
A very small number of mobile phone models may not be compatible with BoifunCam. We apologize for any inconvenience. If you encounter this situation, please send us your phone model by email to [email protected]. We have optimized the software in time and prepared a backup software, "CloudEdge", which you can download and use from the Google Store or Apple Store. We would be very happy about your understanding and your friendliness!
Tips: When using this app for the first time, please enable the following two permissions:
- Allow the BoifunCam app to access mobile cellular data and Wi-Fi, otherwise no IP camera can be added.
- Let the BoifunCam app receive a push notification, or the phone will not receive an alarm push when a motion detection or an acoustic alarm is triggered.
3.2 Register an Account
New users must register by email. The exact steps are as follows:
Notes
- When you register a new account, please select the region in which you are actually located, and correct the country code. (Different registered regions cannot use the camera together.)
- Please choose registration by email.
4. How to Add a Camera to the App
4.1 Insert the Micro SD Card
Please insert a Micro SD card to record videos when motion is detected and replayed. (The Micro SD card is not included in the delivery; the camera supports up to 128 GB Micro SD cards.)

Note: Please insert the Micro SD card before switching on the camera. Otherwise the SD card cannot be detected.
4.2 Switch On the Camera
Hold the power switch for 5 seconds to switch on the camera. (If the camera cannot be switched on, connect the DC 5V/2A power supply to charge the camera for 15 minutes first.)
The indicator flashing slowly red means the camera has started successfully. If the indicator does not light up red and flash slowly, reset this camera.

Can't switch on my camera?
- Charge the camera and try to switch it on.
- Press and hold the on/off button until the camera switches on. (You can try this many times.)
- If you have carried out the steps above but still have no luck, please send your order and your problem to [email protected].
4.3 Connect the Camera

Notes
- Place the camera and the smartphone 30 to 100 cm from the router to set up the Wi-Fi.
- The camera only supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. It does not support 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
4.4 Steps for the Wi-Fi Connection
My camera cannot establish a Wi-Fi connection?
- Please make sure that the Wi-Fi connected to the camera is 2.4 GHz. In our experience, the network connection has failed in most cases because users have used 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
- Make sure the Wi-Fi password is correct. (Note: the Wi-Fi password must not contain quotation marks, underscores, spaces or slashes (/).)
- Check the number of devices connected to your router. In general, the router has connection restrictions. As soon as the devices connected to your router exceed the maximum number, other devices can no longer connect to the router.
- Make sure that the QR code on the phone screen is normal and that the distance between the phone and the camera lens during the scanning process is 10–15 cm (3.9–5.9 inches).
- After checking the above information, try to download the app again, reset the camera, restart the router and add the camera again if the camera cannot establish a connection with Wi-Fi.
- If you have tried all the steps but still have no luck, please send your order and your problem to [email protected].
5. Camera Installation
How do I install with the wall bracket?
Tips:
- Please make sure that the wall or surface on which you want to install the camera is flat. For easier installation, it is recommended to use a drill. The concrete wall may not be suitable for the installation.
- Please do not install the camera in a place close to the heat source, e.g. the outdoor unit of the air conditioner and the smoke extraction in the kitchen.
- Try not to install the product at the roadside. Frequent pedestrians and vehicles wake the camera up again and again, which leads to frequent alarm messages and extremely fast power consumption.
- Please do not install the camera in a position outside the router's range. The product needs a good Wi-Fi signal to work well.
- When installing the camera, it is not recommended to align the PIR sensor vertically to the moving object, because it may otherwise not detect the motion events. It is recommended to make the angle between the PIR sensor and the detected object greater than 15 degrees.

Suggestion: The best downward tilt angle of the lens is 15° to achieve the best alarm detection range.

6.2 Device Sharing
The steps for sharing your cameras with other users:
Tips: When sharing, make sure that your app account is registered in the same region. Otherwise you cannot share successfully.
7. SD Card Recording
The product does not contain an SD card. If you need an SD card to save files, please buy it yourself.
SD card requirements:
Note: Insert the memory card into the device's SD card slot, and the device automatically starts saving videos.
How can I watch the videos on an SD card?
- Method 1: Tap the "History" or "Video playback" button of the alarm information symbol in the app to open the video playback interface. Drag the timeline or select the alarm point to find the corresponding time period record.
- Method 2: Insert the SD card into the computer and convert the video format to MP4 via a third party. If the video is in MP4 format, you can watch it directly on the computer.
8. PIR Motion Detection Settings
Open the "Parameter setting" - "Motion detection" interface.

| Sensitivity | Distance detection (for moving objects) |
|---|---|
| Level 1–3 (low) | Up to 4–5 meters |
| Level 4–7 (Med) | Up to 5–8 meters |
| Level 8–10 (high) | Up to 8–13 meters |
Warm Tip: If the following problems occur when using this camera, you can adjust the sensitivity of the motion detection to fix them.
Notes:
- It is recommended to set the alarm sensitivity to level 8–10 if you frequently miss or delay an alarm.
- It is recommended to set the alarm sensitivity to level 1–3 if a false alarm frequently occurs.
- It is recommended to set the sensitivity to a lower value if the alarm sensitivity and the distance detection are set too high, to make a false trigger easier. In winter, the larger temperature range easily causes false alarms. The PIR alarm is also disturbed by weather and temperature.
- It is recommended to set the sensitivity to a higher value. In summer, the smaller temperature range causes missed or delayed alarms.
- If you notice poor motion detection performance in the night environment, try to disable "Night detection".
9. Audio Warning and Flashlight

Warm Tip: Audio warning and flashlight are only valid at night.
Notes:
- If only an acoustic warning is required, it is recommended to set the alarm method to "Audio warning".
- If only the white-light warning is required, it is recommended to set the alarm method to "White-light warning".
- If the acoustic and white-light alarm is required, it is recommended to set the alarm method to "Audio warning and flashlight".
- The alarm volume can be adjusted in the "Volume adjustment" according to your needs.
10. Battery Management
10.1 Charging the Camera
It is recommended to use a 5V/2A power supply for charging. Please use the special charging cable included in the delivery to charge this camera.
Note: If no 5V/2A power supply is available, other sizes of 5V power supplies can also be used for charging.
How can you tell whether charging is successful?
The device's charging indicator lights up red, which means it is charging. A blue light means the charging process is complete. A full charge takes about 10 hours or longer.
What should you do if the charging process fails?
- Make sure the power supply is in order, and try it with another one.
- Make sure the special charging cable is in order, and try it with another one.
- The charging indicator may be defective. Check the charging status in the phone app.
- Make sure that the device's charging port has good contact with the special charging cable.
- The device has a charging protection module for low temperatures. Please do not charge the device at low temperatures.
- Contact customer service: [email protected]
10.2 Battery Life
If the device does not detect a moving object, the device switches to standby mode, which reduces the device's power consumption. If the device detects a moving object, it wakes up so quickly and starts within 1 second. It takes a screenshot with the recorded video.
Warm Tip: If the temperature is below -20 °C, the battery may switch to self-protection mode, which automatically switches off the camera. However, if the temperature rises, the battery automatically returns to its normal state.
If you have to charge this camera at low temperatures, please warm it up at home for a few hours first. At room temperature, the battery's self-protection mode is automatically switched off to charge this camera safely.
Why is my device's battery life poor?
- Please check whether the number of alarms is too frequent. The device's working time determines the battery life. The more frequently PIR is woken up, the faster the battery is consumed due to the longer working time. It is recommended to reduce the device's motion detection sensitivity appropriately and to set the alarm interval and the alarm schedule. (Note: outdoor air conditioning units, moving cars and passing pedestrians frequently cause alarms. Avoid these objects when selecting the angle.)
- In cold weather, the battery capacity is reduced, which affects the device's service life.
